Rick Santorum is Really Starting to Repulse Me With His Own "Phony Theology"

Rick Santorum is NOT a Christian. He is just "religious". His most recent display of character is not that of a devout Christian man. His own "phony theology" makes him say things that are abominable to God. But he doesn't know it. For he has a "zeal...but not according to knowledge".

THE BIBLE SAYS (in Proverbs 6:16-19):  16 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies, and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

It is my upbringing that made me search out Mr. Santorum's words first to learn something of his character. I wanted to find out if he just recently started on this sad crusade attacking Mr. Obama's "religion" and "faith" or has he been this way for awhile...or worse. The more I read, the more I felt sick to my stomach.   When it comes to phony theology, I submit to you that Rick Santorum is the proverbial poster child. He speaks passionately about Mr. Obama's faith or supposed lack thereof, but when questioned directly, will deny his own words as they're quoted back to him. You may ask me how do I know what Mr. Obama's ideals, values, and theology are. I can tell you all you have to do is LISTEN. His articulations are more than just a smooth flow of words. The content is what is most revealing (if you know the Word of God).

  • Mr. Obama's "theology" concerning the poor & oppressed — Deuteronomy 15:10 - “Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.”  Psalm 41:1 “Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the LORD delivers him in times of trouble.”   Proverbs 19:17 - “He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.”   Proverbs 22:9 - “A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.”

Many people have harangued Mr. Obama for not speaking out or retaliating when the Right attacks him. Many on the right make the attacks then call him weak when he does strike back.

  • Mr. Obama's "theology" concerning replying to attacks against him —  Matthew 5:9-11 - "Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.  Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.  Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

I say to Mr. Rick Santorum that he needs to go back and reacquaint himself, study his own theology. (I am not trying to intentionally offend anyone of the Catholic Church) In the Catechism of the Catholic Church it reads:

  • II. RESPECT FOR THE DIGNITY OF PERSONS

Respect for the souls of others: Scandal

2284 Scandal is an attitude or behavior which leads another to do evil. The person who gives
scandal becomes his neighbor's tempter. He damages virtue and integrity; he may
even draw his brother into spiritual death. Scandal is a grave offense if by
deed or omission another is deliberately led into a grave offense.

2285 Scandal takes on a particular gravity by reason of the authority of those who cause it or the
weakness of those who are scandalized. It prompted our Lord to utter this curse:
"Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be
better for him to have a great millstone fastened round his neck and to be
drowned in the depth of the sea."86 Scandal is grave when given by
those who by nature or office are obliged to teach and educate others. Jesus
reproaches the scribes and Pharisees on this account: he likens them to wolves
in sheep's clothing.87

Along with Rick Santorum are Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, and Rev. Franklin Graham. Pardon me for calling them "SCRIBES AND PHARISEES", but I've got good reasons.

It's funny; I now see Santorum as a slightly smarter version of Sarah Palin. It's pretty disgusting.

snb1930:

From Matthew 11:25-30

25 At that time Jesus answered and said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. 26 Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. 27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

Doesn't it seem as if the hypocrites come out and speak with mouth's that spew forth lies as if no-one had ever read The Holy Bible, and don't know what Jesus Christ taught us through His Apostles and disciples.

They try to place a burden on us that they cannot bear, yet they call themselves righteous in the eyes of God. Beware the false teachers who bring the lies of mammon and call it the teaching of God.

Thanks cowboygrandpa.

Christ said in Matthew 23:13 - "What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people's faces. You won't go in yourselves, and you don't let others enter either".

Santorum is the face of theocracy. No offense, but he is a Christian. The difference being that you interpret the Bible and its theology differently than he does. That doesn't make him any less of a Christian though. That's why there are so many sects to Christianity.

Santorum my be a Christian, but Christians do not judge, only god can do that. Judge not that yea be judged! The catholic church puts themselves in god's place, everything has to go through them to get to god. Where in the bible does it say that?

I actually respect true Christians (I myself am a heathen, as they say), those such as Mr.
Santorum who spews vitriol at each turn and deems himself suitable to judge others that may not subscribe to his version of Christianity, turn my stomach with their blatant hypocrisy.

No offense, but he is a Christian.

Hmmmmmm... last I checked, there isn't an authoritative definition on what constitutes a Christian. Am I missing something???

That's always the problem I've had with the No True Scotsman Fallacy assertions I've heard so often on NV. If the set to which one is referring is not well-defined; then making the assertion that one is not a member of that set because of certain attributes, cannot on the face of it, be dismissed by asserting No True Scotsman.

While it is true there are many different christian "sects" the core principles are universal and not subject to interpretation. Mr. Santorum violates many of the most basic principles almost daily. He is no christian in my eyes.

He says he is a Christian a man of Faith a believer in Jesus and God. When one proclaims this, who am I to tell them they are not a Christian?

By the way, Darwin was right ;-)

I guess that's all well and good. I suspect that your acceptance is based on a "judge not" sort of mentality and that is good. However, logically such a proclamation falls apart unless you are ready to accept the likes of, Westboro Baptist Church, the KKK, and even Adolph Hitler, as valid Christians.

You have it right SNB. The guy is a nut. I call him the anti-Christ. I don't think Santorum would know Jesus if he walked in the room.

SNB I think even the Pope himself would be shocked by what Santorum is about!
